Heidel House Wedding | Green Lake, WI

As far as I know, everything is still up in the air over at the Heidel House Resort & Spa in Green Lake, WI. Before Shana and Keenan’s wedding, Heidel House had announced they would be renovating in 2019, and they canceled all of their booked weddings, including Shana and Keenan’s. Shana and Keenan still had their heart set on this beautiful lakeside resort and were able to snag a 2018 date. Talks changed later and Heidel House announced their closure effective last month. The most recent article I read mentioned there is still a very interested potential buyer, so I’m keeping my hopes up that this gorgeous venue gets a new owner and the TLC it deserves so it can remain an option for couples going forward.

Shana and Keenan took everything in stride. Although they initially had the rug pulled out from underneath them, they stayed true to their hearts and had an emotional wedding ceremony on the water. Threats of storms didn’t even slow us down, although it did scare us inside right after the ceremony for family photos.

We had another scare during the reception, as a close family member had an airway obstruction during dinner nearly requiring an ambulance trip to a local emergency room. Thankfully wedding guests all jumped in to help clear the air, and the party went on. Their first dance as a couple will never be forgotten! Keenan is an avid dancer, and he’s met his match with Shana. They choreographed an entire dance that threw all traditional first dances out the window. The dance floor didn’t slow down for the remainder of the night! It’s hard to believe their wedding was almost a year ago now. I remember it like it was yesterday!
